I've not heard or seen Kodawari, any ideas where I can find this? I don't see it on youtube! (whereas Anti Social Manifesto is)

Thanks
Kodawari and Antisocialmanifesto were both released as downloadable 'b-sides' with the Futurology single release (after initally only being available as bonus tracks on the Japanese release of the album). If you're in the Uk (I'm guessing you are...?) you can buy them online fairly easily from a variety of the usual places such as iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, 7Digital (available in 320kbps AAC), Qobuz... (Available in CD quality for a higher price than the lossy stores).

B Sides

Great thread; I am a massive b side fan also and have almost every original non-album b side bar the covers and remixes.

I honestly find the b side albums as good in some cases as the parent album. One of my favourites is the 15 track Postcards B-Sides album on my ipod; some bloody amazing tracks on it. The 12 B-Sides from RTF/Futurology is top class also. Litany (title of the Lifeblood era 12-track B-Sides album on the pod) came complete with the 2 disc Japanese version and I love it.

Half of their albums have album length B-Side collection; 10 tracks or more; and the other half have at least 5 or 6 tracks apiece, so quite a large alternate history there for this band. As an example, for a band making their 11th and 12th studio album with RTF and Futurology, complete with all b-sides they released 37 songs in total - and the fact that almost all are worthy and many are of top quality is an incredible feat in itself. Green Day by comparison, mentioned as they released the exact same number, 37, in 2013/2014, illustrates how top tier, musically, the Manics era was even 25 years into a career.

Ok, so Resistance Is Futile is coming out, and this begs the question: where are the b-sides?
I know that nowadays phisical singles are no more, but also with RTF and Futurology there were some b-sides...now we only have 2 bonus tracks with the deluxe version and other 2 tracks with the Japanese one.
Are they in a kind of creative block? (I mean, 16 tracks after 4 years, for Manics' standard, it's something like that - I'm half joking, of course)

Today I decided that the RIF era is over, at least in terms of B-sides. So the 4 songs of these era are the two of the deluxe edition and the two of the japanese edition. Nothing more has been published in the last 23 months so, given that a new album is being written, I am confident that the RIF era is over.

So:

Resistance Is Futile B-sides:

Concrete Fields
A Soundtrack To Complete Withdrawal
Holding Patterns
Mirror Gaze

If you include covers/live versions (I do), you could add In Between Days, Garageland and Sweet Child O' Mine.

There's also the two remixes of Hold Me Like A Heaven and the 'Bluer Skies' version of International Blue.

I do only if officially released somewhere (and this is not the case, isn't it?). And I don't count the remixes, only "different" songs.

Think B sides are not really an American thing are they?

Remember being really bored at work a while back and track listing an EP of B sides for each album (5 of my favourites from that time). They were pretty decent to be fair and could make two decent ones from some of them.

I might have missed it but I cannot see (Feels Like) Heaven listed.

I wouldn't mind a 'Complete Lipstick Traces' release. Although going by their pricing of GATS remaster it'll probably cost about £200.

As far as I know, they are more an UK thing. In Italy (where I live) they don't exist at all; among the bands that I follow (I follow = I have the complete discography), the only B-sides band I follow are the Flaming Lips; the others are all from the United Knigdom.
So yes, I think it's a UK thing, I suppose.

You are right; I forgot to update the Futurology list with (Feel Like) Heaven and, of course, Together Stronger. I'm going to do it right now.

Sorry if you have already answered these but are you including 'You can't put your arms around a memory', glory glory, dixie or any of the tracks like Lopez that feature James?

Does anyone know where I can actually buy/get 'Holding Patterns' and 'Mirror Gaze' from without having to buy the whole Japanese version of the album?

Holding Patterns is the B-side to the International Blue vinyl single. Mirror Gaze is unavailable anywhere else, which is frankly criminal.

I wish they would just make them available as mp3s especially when they put them on the bside of a vinyl release anyway. I can never get a nice enough sounding rip from a vinyl.

Thanks. Both good songs.
