Btw, I'm particularly sensitive to films about war. Because mostly they either take sides or pretend not to, but then they turn into the wrong direction, such as a lot of that Hollywood crap that tries to glorify a dirty rotting trash into something oh so touching and romantic.
Well, it's not only about the war, it's more about how NATO, USA and EU created and contributed to the break up of Yugoslavia, and that now, 20 years after, we're all in the same shit. Here's wiki x

True. Jews only wanted their own country after everything they've been through during the WW2. And the state of Israel is sort of a way of "making up" to them for everything. But even before, there were suggestions for Israel to be in the unsettled land in Argentina, or in Africa, and I believe it would be faaar less trouble if that was the case. But, "somebody" (US&GB) wanted Israel there and only there (mostly because of Jerusalem, but in my opinion, that wouldn't be a problem, they could do it like Muslims, millions of them visit Mecca, at least once in a lifetime, it's not neccessary to live there).
Basically, the US wanted an ally in the Middle East and they got it by creating Israel.

anti-semitism surely led to the zionist movement, and the holocaust led to the creation of israel, yes, but i dont think these two are the reasons for the conflict between the two words (east vs west)
