(I think some sites are publishing their reviews based on the original release date)

Getting soooo impatient now Half the forum hearing the album in advance did not do anything good for my waiting morale.
I bet!

IMHO it's worth the wait, especially after you give it a few listens.

That(Hold me...-chorus) is up there with the best Manics have done in my world.

I've heard it a couple times now .. didn't want to overplay it. I'd go with it being a much MUCH better PFAYM

I liked The Left Behind

What a MONSTROUSLY long wait this is. The end stretch is pretty difficult. Expectations vary between that most dreaded of syllables: "pfaym...", the sound of disappointment and disaffectio, to a cautiously optimistic "there'll be interesting sounds and the choruses will be huge, plus I'm interested to hear how International Blue and Distant Colours sound in a row, should be cool".

If it sucks, it won't be a big problem actually. If it doesn't... I don't know. Haven't even considered that really. SATT was the first album release in my fandom and I hated it. It's pretty much the norm that I don't like their new stuff from there on, RTF and Futurology were positive surprises so hoping this'll be too.

It probably won't though. It'll be pfaym...

EDIT: Damn, I got so excited I went and listened to RTF. Bummed out now. That's one's still one hell of a sad album.

Have the pre-orders for the album shipped out early? How is everyone listening to the full album in advance?

I think you got the letters confused. It's RiF not RTF!

It's worth the wait. It's not too PFAYM at all really. I do think there are two duffers on there but you will have many favourites that change the more you listen to it! Hang in there!

I guess you can’t download them and play through other services (you don’t get the actual files?)?

Close the curtains in L.A / Open them up on a Berlin day / Self-made and self-realised / Always ready to disguise / In Eternity / in death as in life / In Eternity / That king and queen of style

...So hold me, hold me, hold me like a heaven... / I want some faith and wanna be forgiven / I wanna feel your divine intervention

These choruses are just pure melody. Glorious.
