Madonna's an odd one but it's probably because they fancied her in the 80s. Jimmy Page and Morrissey are just the people they were into when they were young so of course they'd love to work with them. No different to Lucy Rose fan-girling over singing on TSWH. If they wanted to work with younger acts you'd be complaining that they were trying to be trendy

I can see why James would want to work with Jimmy Page but the other two are just a no go. Morrissey would never collaborate, he wont even bloody get back with Johnny Marr to play Smiths tracks when they both do seperately (so bloody frustrating) and Modonna is now just a totaly spent force. Thought it was funny the way Nicky was laughing about wanting to work with Madonna, certainly didn't say he wanted to do now.

has Morrissey ever collaborated with anyone? He's too busy thinking he's the dog's bollocks isn't he?

James said in an interview he could not approach Morrissey.
He said he would be too upset if Morrissey turns him down.

Is this just their way of saying "We'd love to work with X, X and X but know it's impossible"? With the soul intention of seeing the fans moan about it

Half an hour of La Isla Bonita live performances through the years, for no other reason than why the hell not?

Madonna has a great knack of pissing people off (in the best possible way, I liked how she gave support to Pussy Riot when she played Russia two years ago), in that regard there's some common ground with the Manics. Plus Like A Prayer is a brilliant album.

Because they used to be good and now they're not. They've all got old and lazy. Madonna has made the same record three times now and they've all been awful.

I just don't see why it's necessary to conflate age with quality of work. Fair enough if you think any artist has gotten lazy and put out rubbish work, but is that really anything to do with their age?

Is it basically that you really want them to work with Miley Cyrus, is that it?
