Ouch. Add in the exchange rate for overseas fans and falling exchange rates due to Covid-19 and that is one very expensive purchase.

If they’d re-named it Platinum Against the Soul it could have kept costs down, but the price of Gold is much higher than Platinum compared to what it was in 1993, when it was worth roughly the same (maybe even a bit less at times) ... (and yes I checked just for this incredibly silly post )

Brings the total price down to £36.89, cheapest I've found so far

Wonder if they postpone the reissue, by the way. It'd make sense.

Could see them doing Skype interviews on BBC News.
Album sales are down over 60% due to lockdown. Obvious really.
I don't think they can do anything but wait for more information and advice from the government.
Touring and shows look off this year. Be double gutting if reissue postponed.

Had some time on my hands so, with the band about to do likewise, I revisited this one for a friend’s site:

An interesting time to listen back to it, I found.

I read an article in the NME, saying that most of the songs have been remastered on reissue. It makes me wonder if they've changed some of the lyrics though I hope not. Nicky mentions the album is misunderstood. From the time it will be interesting to know more of the initial recordings, how they were at the Manor, that is possibly where Despair video was filmed and inspired in the opening lines. I'm looking forward to see the handwritten lyrics and unheard demos.

The mastering process happens after the final mixdown, so none of the actual content will be changed, just the final sheen.
'Most' songs being remastered is, I assume, because the unreleased ones have never been mastered before.

Looking at all MSP remasters, the sound quality will be bad as usually. At least I have the original cd..

It’s brickwalled more than the original release.
