While a bit fatigued now from all the versions of Roses on the Hospital I enjoyed the demos and remixes. Symphony of Tourette and the title track especially.

What a fucking ROCKER album, didn't remember it being so... propulsive. Makes me wanna trash the place.

I agree with this. I listened to the album on Spotify and I really like what they've done. I love the distinct emphasis and they always said the album was misunderstood. James is like a demon on the reissue. Great to hear the extra songs and I love the impact and funky remixes. I just wish they included more. It's also just adorable to hear the authentic House in the woods demos.

Thank you guys for the thoughts on the book.

I decided to purchase; 56 Euro (incl postage), a saving on 14 Euro on the Irish retail version. Still pretty steep but I love them!

I emailed yesterday to see if my vinyl had been sent via standard post? Just received a reply stating there was issues and that a standard LP would come out this week and a signed cover would follow at a later date.

You think they could have preempted this and let me know on release date. £70 for cd/book and vinyl. What a fuck up.

Huh? I don’t follow you. Here’s my view on it anyways:

Top class songs:
Roses in the Hospital
La Tristesse Durera
Sleepflower
From Despair to Where
Gold Against The Soul

Fillers/good album tracks:
Donkeys
Nostalgic Pushead
Drug Druggy Druggy

+ wrote 1-2 more songs(instead you of Yourself and Symphony)
Great album.

GATS is three great singles, one decent single, one overhyped decent album track, two okay album tracks and three of the worst filler tracks the band have produced. The 2nd best thing about GATS is that it's not too long, the 1st best thing is that you can stop at Roses and not miss anything.

If GATS wasn't sandwiched between GT and THB it wouldn't be considered any better than SATT or PFAYM...

Totally The Holy Bible should have been the second album.

Yep, that is the same response I got. I am still aghast that they knowingly sent out half orders, without any explanation or apology. were they hoping we would forget what we ordered?

I think GATS is four of their best singles; plus two great album tracks in the title track (love the guitars in it) and Sleepflower. Thats 6 of the 10 I think are top notch.

Yourself is a strange one, sometimes love it sometimes not. Same with Symphony of Tourettes. Some fine metal riffing on that one, almost a unique detour.

Drug Druggy and Pushead are really the two I feel definitely not as good; Pushead has some cool ideas and has an anthemic side, not quite as inspired as the top tracks. Druggy is okay, good verses, slightly underwhelming chorus.

I have Comfort Comes as part of the main album in place if Druggy on the ipod.

Well it thundered last night so obviously all music and film is FFSWW SSSSWFFF FFSWW FSSSSFFFSWWWW to my hearing, but that's a good challenge!

Personally I love the latter half of the album and the b-sides, the run from Donkey to Patrick Bateman. I haven't enjoyed a string of four great songs one after each other like that for sometime.

I can hardly make out any of it apart from the odd word. It seems like there was pretty much a complete rework of lyrics to roses before the final recording.

Just listening to the remaster, sounds like it was recorded in broom closet with a free version of Garageband....
