Not sure if this has been mentioned but I have heard the Manics are playing V this year.

Sorry if this is old news!

Are they? They seem to be playing every festival except the one I bought tickets to... typical.

God, I love how they build it up to be some 'event' by announcing it at 11pm. I mean really, Scouting for Girls and Saturdays fans will have probably already got their early bird tickets.

V's alright oop north, never been to Chelmsford so can't say!

But I been going to V Stafford since 99 (Manics & Suede headlining) and I met my other half in the Manics pit in 2002 there so it'll always be special to me.

At the end of the day, like films/books/etc… it's down to personal preference.

V does actually sound really good of old when they had bands like Pulp and the Manics headlining, I went in 09 and had a great time but with hindsight wouldn't like to go again.

I doubt I'll ever go again. Went in 2007 and had a decent enough time despite the weather, just prefered the other festivals I've been to.

I went in '09 on the Sunday and it was my first festival
I only bought the ticket because my friend had a spare and she said Oasis were playing, but then they pulled out so I was upset. Saw The Enemy though and they were good.

I have a ticket to see Pulp at Wireless this year, and was sorta hoping Manics would be announced for that.

Hmm I'd like to go a festival this year, and this one is the closest to me so maybe if there are other bands I like playing on Manics day I could convince myself to go.

It's my 18th birthday on the Friday, so getting to see them that weekend would be pretty good, but I'm not sure I could justify the price of a day ticket if there aren't really any other bands I like performing on the same day. I'll have to see how much the day tickets are. Plus it's about 2 hours away from where I live.
