What alternative mixes are there?

So, I just learned that there are three distinct mixes of Motorcycle Emptiness in the wild. Possibly four - we have:

A) The Generation Terrorists mix, its most obvious distinguishing feature being the tat-tat-tat on the high hat which runs throughout the entire track in its left channel

B) The 2003 Forever Delayed mix, its most obvious being that it opens with the riff against just strings

C) The Video mix, which drops the high-hat from the studio version and has far more prominent acoustic guitars

D) Possibly a unique US mix, on the US release of GT. The US version of the track does run 2 seconds shorter and appears to be mastered slightly differently, but I'm struggling to identify any clear distinguishing features

--

I'm now wondering, what other remixes have the Manics sneakily released without telling us? I'm aware the US release of The Holy Bible is very different to ours (and, imo, much better in places for it), but what else might there be?

Was there any remastering/remixing involved in the twentieth anniversary boxset?

Has the ME video mix been released any where?

And, I always considered ME to be one of the songs that didn’t get a new mix for the US release and sounded like that now when listened a bit again. A different mastering than the UK release yes.

Not sure if it counts but there's Take The Skinheads Bowling which is basically just two completely different versions between the B-Side and the Lipstick Traces Version.

Little Baby Nothing also has the GT Version, the Stars and Stripes version and the version with the Streetcar Named Desire sample.

You Love Us (Heavenly version) has 2 different (mix) versions to it if recall correctly.
There are some difference to the version on the Heavenly release and when it’s used as a b-side on later releases. As far as my memory goes.

And, a bunch of the songs on GT got other mixes for the US version.

I believe it’s the songs that are also on the Japanese Stars & Stripes EP

There's an alternate mix of Stay Beautiful, think it might be on National Treasures - drum fills are different in the middle bit before the solo. Whole track sounds better as well.

Edit: It appears to be the remastered version below - listen to the drum fill immediately before the solo.

I dug a little deeper in the above, and yes here are the two versions:

The more common one:

The alternate one, that I actually listened to before the other one and got surprised when I heard the version above and found some features on there that’s not on this one:

I wish they'd re-mixed it with Sean playing live drums for the anniversary version.

The B-side is pretty impossible to find, anyway...

There are several alternative mixes of Lifeblood tracks that have been used in Patrick Jones videos, if I recall correctly.

Yep, rough mixes of Emily, Solitude Sometimes Is and Cardiff Afterlife. Basically, everything on the album that was recorded with Visconti.

There’s a version of Let Robeson Sing with the Robeson soundbite removed.

Australia, The Girl Who Wanted to Be God and If You Tolerate This all had alternate mixes on anniversary editions but those are labelled as such.

These were actually different recording sessions all together, ie totally different versions. Not just different mixes.

Edit: Not Tolerate when I think about it, they included the rough mix they used for the record label people, that’s correct!

I kind of hope it was an intentional in-joke.

In all seriousness about Underdogs though, (and this might be to what you were referring if not just messing...(?)), I do think there was an edit-free version posted as streaming realplayer audio before release, unless it was that the quality was so bad you couldn't notice.

Edit (hurhurr )): Here's one of the user submissions for the competition they ran, this appears to use the edit-free stream (has some minor drop-outs due to the stream I guess, but crucially proves the alternative mix did exist): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZOVOCiT_dI
