JFPL, who remembered

One year ago Journal For Plague Lovers was released, the world Yayed. So with 365 days of retrospect what are our thoughts on this magnus opus?

In case you can't tell, I loves it, best after THB IMO.

Jesus, a year. Time flies. That's pretty shocking the more I think about it. I think it's a wicked album. Really really good.

I love it. Showed the Manics could still 'do what they do best'. Just an album of purely Nicky's lyrics obviously wouldn't work in that sort of style. Sadly the style they chose with SATT... sucked.
Roll on the next album!

I actually thought it was tomorrow... Good job Line, good job. I still like it just as much as I did a year ago, though, definitely one of their best.

A year on and I'm still not madly keen on it, It would tie for me with GT as their worst album

I wasn't too fond of it at first, but it grew on me just like THB did and is now considered one of my favourites

It's still good. I haven't listened to it for a little while but when I do, the string section in 'This Joke Sport Severed' still gives me chills. Song is epic.

For me it was the closing of a book. And now I hope they are having a great start into a new era with their coming album. I am so curious!
I totally agree with you! Strangely today one of my colleagues asked me if I knew anything about the band behind an album he's just discovered : JFPL! He said he loved the artwork, lyrics and music!! Let me tell you that their whole discography is ready for him tomorrow! Anther Manics fan!

LOVE IT! Not as much as GT (I don't think any album will ever bump GT down to second place) but still very, very much!
