Well, we knew they weren't going to split up after GT, because they didn't reach their sales goal!

Oh manics, never change. At least they're not threatening to bury this album in the back yard.

Yet. I'm sure Nicky's already marked off a little plot in his garden, just next to the makeshift grave marked "Lifeblood". Just in case, y'know.

But how many albums are buried there that we don't know about?

Nicky would want us to know. It's not a publicity stunt unless people are talking about it.

I say this with the greatest of love, Mr. Jones & co.

'Sounds in the Grass', for one surely...

This!

It's just Nicky's usual dramatics. However, I have to admit my heart skipped one beat when I saw "one last shot at mass-communication" on the postcard on their page, before hearing that 6Music Nicky interview where it became clear that he meant one last go at commercial, radio-hits. I'm sure Nicky would have to know the implications of using ambiguous phrasing like that - he is the biggest tease!

James couldn't cope if they did split. One month off and he was going stir crazy!

They're nothing without the band and each other, this far down the line they won't split up unless age gets in the way or they become really shit.

It's good that they're brilliant enough to be loved but no so massive that it would go to their heads. *ahem* U2 and KOL

Yeah, I love the Manics as they are with regards to their level of success. It means they get to enjoy doing what they do without the sort of media attention that alot of musicians etc have to put up with and us fans benefit from the friendliness they have towards us - ie: not being aloof.

true but methinks even if they were as big as U2 they still wouldn't be aloof. If you're going to be an arsehole you will be whether you sell 20 records or 20 million

Here, let me just take it for you

Honestly. I'd do a whole thread on 'how and why you shouldn't take everything the manics say as gospel' thread but I'd only wind myself up.
