I didn't know who they were at the time when I first saw the vid. Upon getting the cassette of You Stole The Sun I tried to figure out who was who. James was Nicky for a short while!

YSTS is another where I thought 'hmmmm'. There's something about his hair in that video!

I knew James and Nicky's....after a while. But I always forgot Sean's name!

Dean and Sean caused me some confusion I remember. James Sean Bradfield and Dean Moore? It was the YSTS performance on TOTP where James stole my heart!

It was all that energetic twirling about as well. I was hooked after that!

i thought *oooh Nicky* for emg and truth i was a nicky gal. Still comes and goes..sorry James....

aaaaaanyway the album...I remember my reaction to EMG more than this one..I loved tolerate, born a girl, you stole the sun..black dog..and ready for drowning. At the time i thought SYMM was a let down lyrically after the hype it got pre-release..tune is nice but i usually just stop the album before it starts. I was oblivious of the b-sides as i just bought the cheaper copies of the singles with the remixes

Nope, was a Truth session song.

TIMT wasn't a great first listen for me. The album really felt disjoined (sort of like PFAYM), starting with a bunch of obvious singles, then a bunch of slow, studio-y ballads, and then some random songs to round out the record.

It's really grown on me over time though. I used to hate Be Natural, but now I love it, and most of the tracks have grown on me over time.

Ready for Drowning is one of my top ten Manics songs, it's fantastic. favourite thing on TIMT by far.

My favorite. Tolerate was the song that drew me to the Manics and this album sealed it for me. Commercial maybe, but I think there is still a dark, left of centre feel about it, a beautiful mix of the bittersweet and the euphoric. Ready for Drowning and Nobody Loved You still leave me with shivers everytime.

Be Natural, especially the bit about starlight and lemony water

10/10 and the best album of all time.

The only thing that is bad about it is SYMM lyrics. Musically it's great, but it actually makes me angry how Nicky as a big football fan only wrote on that topic after watching a tossing TV program on it, and make such a balls up of the lyrics after that. Should have written that song in the GT era, might have had some hilarity and fun anger lines in it instead of "I can not be arsed."
