This album is Fing brilliant isn't it?!
It's deeply ingrained now and I truly think it has some of their best songs on it.

Listening with headphones on for the last few listens has certainly made an impact.
James's voice sounds amazing and I would love to see the anchoress guest on future work with them.

Where do the "ho ho"s at the end of Hold Me Like a Heaven come from? They sound really familiar.

I got serious Bowie vibes from that track.

I thought that too. It reminds me a little of China Girl by Bowie. But I’m not sure if that's the reference my sub-conscious agrees with, so I’m open to other suggestions.

Being in the US (West Coast, even), I've accepted the fact that I won't get the album until a week or more after it's release. I just hope they ship them out early, so it won't be too long after the release - I saw the pic of them signing copies a while ago - so I know they're ready to go!

Okay, so having listened to the whole album once so far (thanks to a kindly poster)... I like it! BUT, it does remind me a bit of Postcards, and that's my least favorite Manics album - just my first impression was that it's the album of theirs that it sounds most like to me. But that's just after one listen, most of their albums don't get really good until more than a few listens in. To be continued...

Is it just me, or does the melody/guitar lead of Broken Algorithms sound just like "I can't take my eyes off you"? That has to be intentional, right?

*edit* Wait, no, not Broken Algorithms, but the song after it, I think. Argh, I'm all mixed up!

And what about these bonus Japanese tracks below?
Any way to get them outside of importing the Japanese CD, and are the songs good enough to be worth importing the Japanese CD?

13. "Holding Patterns"
14. "Mirror Gaze"

Holding Patterns is apparently on the blue International Blue 7 inch vinyl.

I'm sure both tracks will become available to buy from all the usual download places before too long.

Are 'download places' even around any more? Whole albums, sure... obscure MSP Japanese bonus tracks, less so...

Did anyone get hold of the album without the skips/jumps that’s in the version that I have?
If so, wanna share?

(And yes, buying the release multiple times )
