If the video for a cover is just another montage of past Manic clips, we should invent a 'PAUL IS DEAD' type rumour, that the band all perished on a plane back from their last show, and three lookalikes are making lazy, depressing decisions in their absence.

Looks like another montage video, not too bothered about it. I'm listening to the original version right now, providing the Manics haven't strayed too far from the original it could've gone well on Lifeblood next to Nixon.

One thing's for sure, when we do get to see it, we'll wish we never had.

I can already see from the thumbnail that, much like the It's Not War video, it's not going to work on the most basic of levels - that which requires the visuals to match the tempo of the music. That is unless Nicky pretending to give JDB's guitar a blow job is played over the lyrics 'You smile and think how much you've changed / And all the money in the world couldn't bring back those days', and the rest of the video consists of the three of them looking at copies of SATT and PFAYM and shaking their heads in shame.

Although it should be available for download in just under an hour, if you are unable to download a copy of the single, Absolute Radio are airing it for the first time monday:

"MANICS Monday
On Monday we get the new Manic Street preachers track 'This Is the Day' (a cover of the THE THE song), from their new Singles collection 'National Treasures' - you can hear it with Geoff Lloyd on Absolute Radio just after 5pm on Monday"
