Did you download the Amazon mp3 downloader? The mp3 itself is DRM-free, but you need to download it through Amazon's program.

Also, We Were Never Told lyrics (or an attempt in it):
So, so innocent All destructive and naïve To paint a picture without the darkness A being/pain(?) without disease Always imagining But remembering nothing at all You can be part of the solution I can hear your call If there's rain in your tears, let it wash away our fears If there's blood in your tracks, then let it lead you back Cause we were never told that it would be so beautiful So, so innocent All destructive and naïve To paint a picture without the darkness A being/pain(?) without disease Always imagining But remembering nothing at all You can be part of the solution I can hear your call If there's rain in your tears, let it wash away our fears If there's blood in your tracks, then let it lead you back Cause we were never told that it would be so beautiful If there's blood in your hands, I can make you understand If you've ever felt some guilt, I can help you deal with it Cause we were never told it would be so beautiful

Hmmm, given it a few listens now. Perfectly serviceable catchy little tune but nothing special. This should have been on the vinyl that no one will listen to and Endless Plain... should have been the single

What a rocker! A true return to form!
That's more like it! The boys have done us proud with this uplifting ode to optimism. It's like Stay Beautiful for 42 year olds with the added compositional maturity that comes with all those years in the trade. James puts an end to any cruel rumours that his voice has gone with a superb performance and Dave Eringa finally comes good with a production masterclass brimming with energy. It might be a cover version but they've made it their own! Top 40 on downloads alone, I'm sure. Well done, boys! Onwards and upwards!
I Lied. Quite blatantly. It's just that they all sound so gloomy lately, like they know the time for them to split up has been and gone but they can't bring themselves to do it and Sony can't bring themselves to drop them knowing that JDB and Nicky will suck any media cock that's unzipped to promote £165 box sets. Fortunately, at least two of them won't know how to highlight text so they need never know the truth. I kinda want to listen to it in full again to make sure it's as thoroughly devoid of merit as it appeared after my first listen but I can't bring myself to hear to it again so soon, and, besides, it clearly is that bad. This is intended as an uplifting song, so why does it sound so depressing? Has James ever sounded more dejected? There's little doubt that it was recorded immediately before the interview where both JDB and Nicky wished they could get a new singer in. And again they've gone for a 'let's drain every drop of life out of the music' production technique. If they play Suicide is Painless and She Is Suffering after this at the O2 they'll both feel like an army of serotonin buzzing through the synapses. How do the three band members, the producer, the management and record label all listen to that without one of them having the balls to admit that it's not anywhere close to being good enough? Why is it always left to the fans? Obviously it doesn't matter that it's not going to make the top40/top70/top100/top1000/whatever. We just have to hope on their behalf that their NT campaign isn't ruined by this abomination getting playlisted on national radio and the public witnessing the full extent of their decline. Anyhoo, it was all too evident that this cover of a 5+ minute song was never going to work when it was shown to be 3.5 minutes long. I'm gonna say it again, another pre-empted radio edit. At the same time, 5 minutes of this shit would be beyond torture. I won't be saying it AGAIN, though. It's sad how my posts read like a parody of my older ones, so I'm never again uttering another word on anything new they do. The script is already written many times over. The b-side isn't even worth a moan anyway. PS. I'm glad I don't care for Star Wars. |

What would the Mighty Manics of yore say if confronted by their future selves knocking off a ropey The The cover version in their lunch break to flog their second greatest hits?
I hate to say it I'm really, really ashamed by this. Twenty years as a MSP fan and this is the lowest point artistically. As a B-side no problem, as a proper single? Shame, shame, shame. |

I love the original so was really hoping that the Manics could make this sound amazing. Gutted. Sounds like James needs a two year rest for his voice too

Really wish they'd rerecorded You Love Us for the single. I haven't listened to this yet but I know it's going to send me to sleep.
