Manics won't be appearing today according to official twitter. They are still playing tomorrow.

Obviously there was a reason that the flight was cancelled, thank god there was no kind of malfunction up in the air! Thank god the lads are on solid ground and safe travels on the next flight.

I can imagine they'd be nothing short of pissed off. Let's hope they continue back on schedule tomorrow.

It might not have been their flight that had the problem.. just that they missed their slot to leave. That might be why they weren't let off the plane early..

They should have taken their badges off, done their show, then caught the next jet to leave Moscow.

What do you mean? You don't just get one slot to take off.

i didnt mean take off at 4:15 precisely but they do have allocated slots. If the flight is delayed too much they miss it and have to request another one. It's wot they said on *Heathrow* and that easyjet reality show anyway Might all be lies to get people to show up on time for their flights. 5 hours does seem OTT for that reason so i'm probably talking crap again

Heathrow maybe, but it's very busy. I can't imagine they'd have to wait 5 hours in the evening in budapest though. They wanna get the planes out of there.

James. Stuck on a plane with Nicky going into a Nicky meltdown for five hours. His hair will be snow white.

If it makes them feel better, while missing out on the Chelmsford leg would have been a lost commercial opportunity a few years ago, the media coverage of V seems dead nowadays. (It always was for the Stafford leg.) They've probably got more attention for pulling out.

According to BA, the flight was due to depart this morning, but was cancelled due to technical reasons.

Hummingbird, you actually talk good sense my friend. An aircraft has very strict slots for transit through European Airspace due to the volume of air traffic, as well as slots for arrival and departure. So in essence, you are correct, if an aircraft is delayed and misses its slot (wherever it is to/from), it has to wait for the next available slot, although it is not the reason for cancellation in this case
