Really hope, if it is an acoustic gig, that some proper thought does go in to the setlist and it's not just acoustic versions of rock songs. Bring out some lesser known stuff from TIMT, KYE, Lifeblood and the acoustic b-sides (of which there are many!) I can't be doing with acoustic Faster, YLU or Motown Junk!

'Donkeys' was dusted off for that Lipstick Traces HMV set, which in my head feels similar to this smaller venues trek; taken alongside the redone / acoustic version they posted on the website a few years back, I'd like to think stuff like that would be considered for these gigs...

Donkeys along with Mr Carbohydrate… Just throw in a bit of Sepia, Are Mothers Saints, 1404 and Us Against You and I'll be a happy chappy!

But seriously, 1404 and an acoustic Ready For Drowning would fit in with the Welsh angle of this album soo well!

Thought i'd put this in here incase it gets missed on the other thread. James has said they're looking to drop some songs and play more of the new album. It sounds like they're wanting to change the setlists generally tho'. Whether they'll be brave enough to play popular b-sides who knows

Didn't they say something similar around 2002/3? ie: the FD tour would have been the last time we saw some of the singles played for a while…? Let's hope they mean it this time, I think it'll really help to rejuvinate the band more by forcing them into a position to relearn older tracks, lesser played singles, album tracks and proper curios. A man can dream but I'm very excited!

This sounds really promising

Personally, whilst b-sides would be lovely, I'd settle for (and would probably prefer) a few unexpected/'obscure' album tracks. Was listening to TIMTTMY this week and thinking I'd love to hear Born A Girl or, y'know, any damn thing that isn't the four singles.

And it goes without saying that ANYTHING from Lifeblood would be appreciated, please and fankoo.

i dunno.. it might just fitting more of the album in so playing less old songs. I may have got a little over-excited when i heard him say they were dropping songs.

Which ones tho'?? Difficult to guess seeing as anything can get the accoustic treatment. I know acoustic Faster is everyone's favourite on here

Hope playing more of the album means at least six songs. They only played around 3 or 4 for Postcards

I'm not getting my hopes high! James makes it sounds as if they play all 40 singles at every gig, they'll just drop the interesting ones for the predictable ones, at least for the general tour that hopefully follows Futurology!

Hm... I suppose from their perspective they've been playing National Treasures setlists constantly for two years now. So maybe he does just mean they're planning to drop Revol and what-not.

I'm hoping we get a higher percentage of the new album per gig than we did for Postcards. Still optimistic they might play the album in full.
