Only a few days away now. Not seen the band since supporting the Foo Fighters back in 2008 which is a long time ago especially as theres been 2 albums released since then.

Saw Doves at Leeds Academy last year and thought it was a really nice venue. Quite modern, but also compact and intimate with a good sound. Should be a top night!

I ain't seen the band since Dec 2007 so looking forward to this a lot! Not been to the venue either so it'll be a whole new experience. Got to find it first!

It's pretty easy to find, just off Millennium Square on Cookridge Street (not far from the LGI either). It's a really nice building actually; quite gothic, so it should stand out a bit.

Is this the one that used to be Town And Country or something like that? Checked google maps, and it's literally a half mile straight line north from the station. Brilliant, train back isn't while 23:35 anyway, plenty of time

Yeah it used to be the Town and Country Club. Then it was a nightclub for a while until it became an Academy. Didn't the Manics play it when it was a Town and Country Club? I'm sure I've heard that somewhere anyway.

Yes they played their on THB tour ( oct 16th 1994 ) and It`s still the best gig they have ever played ( in my top 10 ) in Leeds. I would like to bet James will mention it as well tomorrow, it was proper mental, mind you that tour was just mental full stop.

Oh don't remind me... if I remember correctly, that gig was part of Leeds Sound City. At the time, I was only just starting to get into the Manics, so even though I was tempted to go and see them, I decided to go to The Bluetones gig instead!! Oops.

OK thanks My brother wants to park his car near the bus station cos there's free parking he said which means I'm going to have to walk through Leeds all dressed up....I am actually considering not dressing up now cos I don't want to get shouted at and maybe destroyed by idiots
Any way looking forward to this gig and be nice to see faces I've seen at gigs in the past. I always think "ooo I know him / her" but I only know their face and maybe username from on here, nothing more But if anyone fanices a chat please say hello

Ouch! I wouldn't have minded seeing Bluetones 10 years ago or something, haven't seen em before

I'm sure there is some on-street parking not far from Millennium Square which should be free after a certain time of day, it might be 6pm but I'm not sure about that as I don't actually drive myself. Alternatively if you didn't mind paying for a car park, there's a Q car park in The Light, which is right by the Academy. I think that's the one we'll be using tomorrow, mainly for convenience.

If you're going to be walking up from the bus station in day light though, I probably wouldn't worry too much. It's always pretty busy in the centre of Leeds throughout the day and it's not *that* far to walk, so you should be ok.
