Best JDB Vocal?
After having to endure the endless stream of shite that we have in the charts today, alongside the mindnumbingly boring "talent" contests on TV these days - I felt it was time for me to go on the hunt to find the best JDB vocal.
So the question is - If JDB had to go on a show like The Voice, for example, which song do you think he would pick to sing (from the Manics/solo catalogue) that would most impress the judges? Also, which song do you think contains the best passage of vocals from James? (doesn't necessarily have to be his best performance throughout)

Personally, I will say his most "talent" show-esque vocal would be "PFAYM" or "SALWTG".

Can't decide between Life Becoming a Landslide and Removeables.
Lots of slow, calm mellow vocals, served up with a big dollop of screaming shouty stuff. For the "best passage" I can't see any choice other than Ocean Spray, simply because of the weight of emotion behind it.

For a show of that kind I think that Ready for Drowning would be a good choice.
Agree.

i think he is best when he actually doesn't give a fuck like on know your enemy and he is absolutely horrifying when he tries to sing beautifully.

Actually,
I take those choices back. For your generic Saturday night TV talent show, there can be only one; Faster. Complete with the balaclava. Spitting out Plath and Pinter at Cowell. Do want.

Best vocals - I would go for the whole of GATS, barring maybe the title track but as an album the vocals are consistently amazing. He was obviously popping the Noddy Holder pills! I think I Live To Fall Asleep would go down well at a talent show if he probably added a bit more oomph to the vocal, but it's a great example of how he controls his voice and makes things sound effortless.

I'd add TGW to that list... his voice sounds pretty much like it did on Truth, but better in some cases.
