A bit pricey for me too. If it was around $40-50, maybe.

Well given it's the cover of the album, it shouldn't really be a surprise...?

Ok, I lied. I'm now considering it hahahah. It can be an early Christmas gift for myself (I'd say a late birthday present, since my birthday's next week, but I already got myself a Manics t-shirt for that heh).

Really stupid question, but do they ever lower the prices for these later on? I looked at the huge National Treasures boxed set, but I don't remember what the original price for that was.

not a stupid question at all. no question is ever stupid, it's down to the character of the person being asked as to what the level of intelligence is in the answer

under no circumstances would the official Sony store ever drop prices (as good a deal this set is in comparison to others, they still haven't quite got rid of their "fuck you consumer" philosophy), but if you have a browse on the NT box thread you can see that stores somehow get hold of the "exclusive to My Play Direct" stock and sell it at a bit of a discount.

considering how much was missing, and the somewhat lacking packaging, the best thing to do unless you are an ardent completist is to ignore the NT box and hunt down the singles on things like ebay, amazon marketplace and so on.

But then some of us thought it was going to cost (at least) twice as much.

Not entirely sure where they think those loose CDs are going in the box now.

The box set for me is being saved for my birthday, I'm sticking with just the standard one. Plus I'm buying it for my girlfriend's birthday, so I don't really have the money to spend on the box set now!

Really excited to hear the album remastered, I can live with just the standard one for a while as it's all I've wanted from an anniversary release.

I thought there was a 3rd CD with the box set which is not on the legacy edition?

I think he's saying the opposite, that you don't get anything exclusive on the legacy edition, unlike the box set.

Like when I bought the deluxe version of JFPL and Bag Lady wasn't on it, when It would have been had I bought the standard one?

Got to love them.

that one never really made any sense - did the band or label ever comment on to why that happened?

No. But they offered it as a free download on the website if I remember correctly, so that people who didn't have it on the version they bought could have it.
