What Rating Would You Give PFAYM?
For Me its a 7/10

5/10. It is the very essence of mediocrity. I wouldn't have minded that much, you know album 10 is rarely going to be an incredible piece of work, but after talking it up for god knows how long, it's hard to not feel a little let down by the trad pomp rock that makes up the vast majority of the album.

7/10. Not their best, not their worst. Nothing particularly amazing or shit about it. It's a Manics album, and I do find Manics below their own par to be better than a lot of people's above par. Been mildly amused by how much energy some people seem to be putting in to hating it, can't see for the life of me what's so offensive about it.

8/10, 4/5 (on my blog's review). It may not be to everyone's expectations, but it's still a very good album.

a bunch of lovely songs, but there's no progression.

I gave it a 7 on here but it's about a 7.5 / 10 for me now. Won't go any higher, I've played it about 30 times this weekend

6. Compared with much of their work it's nowhere near great in terms of quality, and while I don't expect a band who have never really broken boundaries to start breaking them now, it's a regression in almost every sense. Sure it's kinda fun, and when it works (see INWJTEOL, and the one with Bunnyman) it really works, but let's be fair most of this stuff wouldn't muster B-side status back in the day. There's much more filler for the first time since KYE too. It seems that whenever they try really hard to be populist they trip up over their own feet.

I gave it a 7 but I think they gained an extra point because I love the band, and James' voice...well...it just makes me happy. I see 'The Holy Bible' as their only 10/10 album and used that as a benchmark.

2, because I only like two songs.

It says a lot about the record that there are more 2s, 3s and 4s then 10s on a Manics board.

I've never given any album a '10'. 9.5 yes, but not a 10.

I give Nicky 4 out of 5 for his three songs.
