YAY!!! Cardiff tickets! Now I just need a place to stay the night! Um.. I'd love to see The Everlasting with the solo in it; I have always wanted that live. PCP and 1985 would be so good though, maybe a couple b-sides.....if I heard Are Mothers Saints I'd be so damn happy and as soon as I hear ".....your love aaalllooonnneee....", I'll be off to buy a drink..

1985 is the Lifeblood track they should drop in as much as possible really. There are plenty of good tracks on that album that don't come across well live or they haven't figured out how to get the best out of them, but 1985 always sounds good.

Very realistic setlist for the mini-tour. I suspect them to drop either Suicide Is Painless, Roses or La Tristesse as they might include Life becoming A Landslide. Australia might return, and Stephen Hawking could stay in for a while? And Suicide Alley once more, in Cardiff maybe? You Stole The Sun again as a full band too, I guess. My dream-realistic setlist: Found That Soul Motorcycle Emptiness Your Love Alone Is Not Enough You Love Us (It’s Not War) Just The End Of Love Australia Life Becoming A Landslide Suicide Alley Postcards From A Young Man 1985 Yes La Tristesse Durera (but hopefully Sleepflower ) Motown Junk If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next This Is Yesterday (acoustic) Ready For Drowning (acoustic) Peeled Apples Faster Some Kind Of Nothingness You Stole The Sun From My Heart Tsunami Design For Life Masses Against The Classes (Yes!) I really hope they 'beef up' the setlist after the acoustic break a it, as suggested above.

It'll be one of those 'celebrations of oddities' sets of Springsteen length and magnitude. Possiby. Several sets in one. Something like this, probably.
Set 1: (Greatest Hits) You Stole The Sun From My Heart Autumnsong So Why So Sad Ocean Spray The Love Of Richard Nixon Your Love Alone Postcards From A Young Man Kevin Carter Everything Must Go - I Live To Fall Asleep (JDB solo acoustic) Rock N Roll Music (JDB solo acoustic) Gold Against The Soul (JDB solo acoustic) So Dead (JDB solo acoustic) - The Future Has Been Here 4ever (Nick solo acoustic) Motorcycle Emptiness (Nick solo acoustic) Sculpture Of Man (Nick solo acoustic) - Intense Humming Of Evil (Sean solo trumpet and kick drum version) - Black Dog On My Shoulder (with Scottish Pipe Band) Some Kind Of Nothingness (with Scottish Pipe Band) You're Tender And YOu're Tired (with Scottish Pipe Band) Golden Platitudes (with Scottish Pipe Band) Spectators Of Suicide (with Scottish Pipe Band) - The Year Of Purification (with Bavarian Brass band) Spectators Of Suicide (with Bavarian Brass band) I'm Not Working (with Bavarian Brass band) - Ocean Spray (with Scottish Pipe Band AND Bavarian Brass band) Indian Summer (with Scottish Pipe Band AND Bavarian Brass band) If You Tolerate This (with Scottish Pipe Band AND Bavarian Brass band) - |

All I really want is to hear some songs I've never heard live. Just a couple. Even if they only play the few they've helpfully prepared us for (because god forbid we'd go to a Manics gig and be surprised) I'll be satisfied.

Hadn't they been ending with Masses? They used to do that in 2001.

I think that's a given.
A realistic prediction based on Wire's tweets and a little bit of wishlistisms.... I think they should end on Motorcycle Emptiness, for a change It's Not War You Stole The Sun Peeled Apples Found That Soul Australia Some Kind of Nothingness My Little Empire Marlon JD Enola Alone The Everlasting Yes Life Becoming A Landslide Further Away Tolerate Postcards From A Young Man Forever Delayed Send Away the Tigers -------------------- This Is Yesterday Small Black Flowers --------------------- Jackie Collins A Design For Life You Love Us Motorcycle Emptiness

Manic Street Preachers perform their classic 1994 album, The Holy Bible, in it's entirety.

Personally I think if they were going to perform The Holy Bible in its entirity it would be better suited to smaller venues.
As for set lists I'm not expecting much change from the last few times I've seen them. The regulars and hits will all be there. Personally as long as I enjoy the evening they could play a whole bunch of songs I don't like normally. Saying that though opening with Found That Soul and ending on The Masses Against The Classes would be good. |
