Bass riff in the chorus of Wattsville Blues = the greatest thing ever done.

I don't really hate this album, and there are some really good tracks, but there are also a load of tracks that are so unremarkable that I couldn't even hum them or quote a lyric from them, despite owning this album for 8 odd years and having listened to it many times. It's more of a meh album than a bad one for me.

2nd best after the Bible
It's interesting, highly charged, and aggressive
Bloody quality, and I'm filtering out any negativity.

It's so different and that's why I love it!

In my opinion, an album as highly flawed as it was anticipated.

A brilliant and brave album hidden amongst mess and filler. It's ace.

It was the first Manics album I ever heard, when I was about ten years old in 2002. My Dad was holding a party of some sort and I was in charge of music. So I took this strange CD from the shelf with big white letters and a red background and played the thing from start to finish. I still remember as clearly as the day it happened me going up to Dad and saying "What should I do when it goes 'brain-dead mother fuckers'?"

Liked the album at the time and it was the first Manics album I actually bought in 2006 when I saw it for £3.99 at the local store in Peacehaven. I had just enough pocket money for it and I copied it to my MP3 player. It was only a year later when I knew Send Away The Tigers was coming out that I bought the key back-catalogue albums and started getting into them. KYE is more or less my least favourite Manics album but it does have a special place in my musical history. Listening to it now for the first time in yonks. Memories...

An album that gave us these 12 tracks can't be bad.

As James said " we wanted to make an album that sounded like we were pissing blood"
I'd go with that. Some great tracks and one of the best openers.
