It really doesn't, does it?
Can't decide which was the worst era - GATS or PFAYM? |

Really don't know what next. Only thing I'm sure of is the next album probably won't sound like Resistance Is Futile. They've surprised me many a time and will again - some surprises better than others. I loved the solo albums, love the fact that James has written a horror soundtrack. Kinda hoped for summat more.. I dunno... atmospheric or summat. Fuck off, do your own thing, come back together with different ideas.
As far as gigs go, I was a bit ambivalent about this tour but loved the Manchester gigs. Off to York on Monday and Liverpool after that, looking forward to em. Bit frustrating though, what a wealth of material they've got and as far as the second half of the set goes we'll be lucky if there are 15 different songs across the whole tour. Saw Suede do two nights at the Albert Hall last month, about a third of the set was different. Alright they weren't playing an album, but two nights in one venue and one change? Can do better than that..

Aye, gotta be end of em? Course I'd got to anniversary gigs on every tour if they happened.. Shame they don't like Know Your Enemy or Lifeblood much. Be nice if they gave em a nod at least, play Convalescent or Fragments or summat.

New album and small venue tour, playing more varied matieral and more newer songs. Like others have said, drop stuff like EMG and YLU. EMG becomes weaker and flatter as time goes on at live shows, it doesn't work at Manics gigs or festival slots anymore. It's like once a new album is out they just play a few tracks and then within months it drops to maybe one song they perform and that's it, it's going to get forgotten about sadly. If you went to a gig and asked a random average fan if they'd like to hear a song from RTF or F albums I bet they'd not even know what albums you were referring to!

If I had my druthers, I'd want them to do something loud/hard/lo-fi/visceral... sorta like Holy Bible, but more modern, maybe even more "garage rock". Songs that would go over big when played live.
Seems like one of the kinds of music they would excel at but haven't quite attempted. |

I asked James about this... He laughed.

I would still like to see a proper 'B' sides compilation, but as much as I enjoyed Resistance is Futile, I find myself thinking Futurology should have maybe been their swansong. |

Jackie Collins is less than two and a half minutes long and piss easy to play. No excuse for leaving that out.
