Thank you Rachel for the info about bags policy. Anything about Manics aftershow event?

I don’t even bother taking a bag to gigs anymore. It means slightly rammed pockets (seen as women’s jeans have the tiniest pockets ever), but I can’t be arsed with the hassle when doors open.

Speaking of doors, I can’t stand the entry system at this arena. So many doors and too many variables if you want front row.

Ah, yes, forgot to mention I lost my backpack, I thought they meant 'no large bags or [large] backpacks', so took my son's tiny backpack. Security made me ditch it, and it was gone when I got back. Pretty sure a homeless guy took it, so if he enjoyed my bottle of water and packet of tissues, good for him, at least I managed to stash my eyeliner in my friend's similar-sized shoulder bag!

I haven't found a way to not carry a bag. Too much risk of stuff falling out of pockets and my phone is too big anyway

I saw in the Newcastle thread you had your bag confiscated. Seems stupid when it's obviously the same size as someone else's bag just that you wear it on your back. I don't know if they make up policy or if they get police advice.

^ at risk of derailing the discussion to sad and worrying themes, it just seems reactionary - you can put a bomb in any bag, backpacks are not the problem! I understand having tight security where there are crowds of people, but focusing on a style of bag seems to miss the point. I suppose I'm going to have to choose gig clothes with good pockets, I can't dance with a shoulder bag on!

I have such low expectations for tomorrow.

But the Star and Garter should be fun

My normal gig bag is a teeny tiny rucksack, today it will be bright pink animal from the muppets number that’s about twice the size... Only just heading into town now so probably food and straight to venue, but looking forward to manics mania disco afterwards

Mine is a cross body bag ... I'm going to shorten the strap to turn it into a shoulder bag just in case !

Following it on the FD Twitter.
The Anchoress guesting!
Motorcycle Emptiness following the opening International Blue!
Ah if only I was working I could have afforded both tickets and a basic Manchester hotel that charges you twice and you have to get the money back if I could remember their name I'd make an account with Trip Adviser and leave a one star review.
But even me, busy doing nothing, has got better things to do than make an account with Trip Adviser and leave one star reviews!

Another great gig. Sound was better from 8-10 rows back where I was , than yesterday.
Bag checks were at the bottom of the stairs and u had to go through metal detectors. They even made me open my purse don't begrudge them tho.

I, for one, am very pleased we got The Anchoress doing LBN and Dylan & Caitlin.

I really liked EMG acoustic too. James absolutely nailed belting out the vocals.

TBTGOG is a fav of mine so I loved that.
