I don't know, did you miss that it's out of print and manics fans are kind of mental?

I know its out of print but was available in waterstones, online etc for a hell of a long time and that's a huge amount. Other bands out of print books are a hell of a lot less.

Can't even tell if it's the original or revised edition! The page seems to refer to both.

they're third party sellers arent they? Just someone trying it on. I like how it lists the RRP as £14.99 and the winter sale banner above

Just read a load of old interviews, because that's all the book is. Other peoples interviews rehashed. It's an awful book.

I wouldn't call it awful, and I do feel it's picked up a somewhat unfair reputation as being 'full of lies' and everything, possibly due to who the author is and his rather unique relationship with the band members. I wouldn't say it's bad as such, but I agree with the fact that almost all of the source material is drawn from interviews. I was slightly disappointed with it in that sense.

I remember once going into a shop in Betws-y-Coed and seeing a few copies of this book and one of the other Manics books for sale. Got all silly Manics fan excited at the time!

I have a spare copy that's going for the postage and packing if anyone's interested.

Yup. I personally think alot of the criticisms of it are unfair. Simon Price may be something of a twat (he was totally up his own arse when I met him), but this book is pretty good.

I haven't read it for a while, but I remember I thought it was a pretty good book. Nothing wrong with quoting interviews in a chronological context as far as I'm concerned, and for me that clearly wasn't all the book was anyway, as I remember it anyway. It had some nice photos and a decent discography for a start.
