They usually don't like to be questioned on the review and disappear from the forum as quick as they came.

I've been thinking about the album not being finished yet and I think it could actually be a really good idea. if they can mix and master the first single first and get that into rotation they can then finish mixing the rest of the album and release it ASAP after its finished. this way it would minimise the risk of it leaking and give them a chance of 'mass communication'.

they seem to have a bit of a momentum going after the previous 2 albums which even though they were stylistically different they still were both recieved well and successful in the charts. as long as there is a killer first single they have a really good chance of getting where they want to be

^^When should we expect a single then?

Arcade Fire's album is coming out August, and Radio 1 are already playing their 2 A sides. 'Suburbs' and something else.

So that's like 2 months before. Do we reckon the Manics single will be late July, if they're going to have a similar sort of thing. (I don't know the bands protocol about this stuff)

I guess we'll be hearing/reading "last shot at mass communication" in every interview before the album's released.

Probably three of them in a room, with various shots of them on computers, mobile phones, and normal phones either texting, calling or emailing people showing the power of "mass communication". And Nicky locked up in a room writing one long letter to someone telling them to fuck off, probably

I've been offline for the day but in doing so found I had the best sisters anyone could have!
I'm very excited by the "this and this and this" news and pictures getting released gradually.
Intend to wait until September to hear it. And of all the posts in this thread, this one:

The title "A Billion Balconies Facing The Sun" has been bounced around before. Is it from the Guardian article about the US tour last year? Or does it predate it?

Hope the lead single will get its first radio plays soon. Hope they get a good video for it, Jackie Collins was OK but very low budget and like a Patrick Jones video he does, Indian Summer was nice but not interesting unless you liked to keep watching clips of the Manics eating ice creams and them as kids, Autumnsong was fucking awful (both versions) and Your Love Alone was alright but just a bog standard band miming to the song.
And yeah, as someone said, every interview we'll ALWAYS hear about "last shot at mass communication", it'll be like last years "I got a folder with Bugs Bunny on it" which was said in EVERY interview or article.
