I didn't get it on the day, I only got that from listening to it several times on the video and I think the person asking originally was right that it was 'crashed' or 'crushed' rather than crashing.

So can we agree on this?

"There's a summer breeze crashed (crashing) over the Serpentine, we knew this moment was yours and mine"

I wonder if it's a quotation? But I couldn't find anything. Or might it just be a personal message to someone?

Mick Bolton reference?

Serpentine Summer
Rolling Stones record on the radio
But I don't feel like a street fighting man
It's way too cold and I'm way too old
So I'll turn it up as loud as I can
And dream about those crazy times
When the future was yours and mine
Roundhouse nights and lazy days
Down by the Serpentine

I caught the smell of patchouli oil
Floating on a summer breeze
I saw a sweet little hippy girl
In her kaftan and her beads
Music drifting through the trees
That day in sixty-nine
Rolling Stones played for you and me
Down by the Serpentine

Butterflies over the park, Che Guevara on your wall
So naive and eager to believe we'd change the world

No other idea
