Check out 'Someone somewhere in summertime', 'Waterfront', 'Promised you a Miracle', 'Ghostdancing', 'Love Song', 'Sanctify Yourself', 'Don't You (Forget about me)', 'Glittering Prize'. See if you can find a compilation album somewhere!

Yeah I agree.
They've got a few decent albums, I don't know enough about their setlists or how long they are likely to be on for to make it worth my while going though, and sitting through a load of stuff I have no interest in. |

Are the Manics really any bigger than Simple Minds?

Guess the list of bands smaller than the Manics is diminishing. At least Toploader, Travis or Cast are absent.

Indeed. And at least there's no KT Tunstall, I can't bloody stand her. Still debating whether to go - knowing my luck, I'd buy tickets to this and they'd announce a tour!

Hmmm Josh Groban and James Blunt have been added to the bill, me thinks the manics will be on the 2nd stage, unless the manics want to collaborate and do a hybrid You're Stay fucking Beautiful, which would be a tad schizophrenic.
"You're beautiful, you're beautiful, you're beautiful it's true, but I don't wanna see your face, don't wanna hear your words, why don't you just fuck off ...but im still in love with you"

Okay, now it's a case of no publicity is better than this publicity.
You can't take spiky Manics seriously in April months after appearing on a bill with that lot. it's official, we've already come to the bust part of the new album boom-bust cycle. I thought there'd be a bit more boom until we heard the music. |

It would be very un-them to rehearse for 2 gigs.
And anyway, there's an album out the same month. Of course there'll be a tour, and you'll rue the day you decided to see them at a Joe Public gig at Hyde Park, as opposed to, say, Brixton Academy

One duff festival does not a failure make. The likes of V and T in the Park hardly boast line-ups of incredible musical talent.

I don't mind them doing this kind of thing. Maybe Heaton Park next year?
