Manics cover Amy Winehouse
First time I've started a new thread on here.

Next issue of Q Magazine appears to be an Amy Winehouse tribute thing, which comes with a CD of bands covering the Back to Black album, including Manic Street Preachers.

Excellent it is too. I have a friend who works in the cardiff WH depot. I managed to get a copy of the CD for sod all as the magazine it was attached to was ripped. The song is fantastic.

Ugh, I do hate Amy Winehouse, talentless wastrel, but I guess we have to do silly things for the Manics.

Just the CD as the magazine was ripped. The song is really good. I really wish it had been written by the manics.

Well she wasn't at all to my taste, and couldn't hit the notes she was meant to, apparently that's jazz. And she fucked up her life ridiculously, having had such privilege and opportunity, she wasn't tragic, just silly. IMHO anyway, I'm aware that might offend and annoy people.

She made me feel sorry for The Zutons ffs.

I can see this thread morphing into an Amy defence/Attack thread. Save that for "Other Music" and just discuss the Manics version.
