That's what I'd like to see anyway.
Definitely bin the orchestra and the choir, or at least learn a little moderation.

But going back to larger venues is a really good point. For a start I miss the video screens - I really liked them as a backdrop and I think they added a lot.

Whatever they do I hope they keep tight hold of their quality control.
"70 Songs Of Failure & Hatred" sounds like it'll be 20% brilliant. But because it's been reported as gospel in the media they'll probably feel the need to play up to it.
I mean they might write 70 great songs and it'll be all perfect, but I think it'll be a stretch.
I think they should bide some more time with the nostalgia card.
The opposite of "mass communication"?... "Elitism panderings?"

Aim for a specific audience may not be a bad idea.

Telling the band that may end up scarring us though, 'go for the metal audience?' 10 weeks later James saying 'it's like Generation Terrorists meets Stone Temple Pilots.'

That's what I'd like to see anyway.
7) If you hire a choir, don't feel like you have to use them on as many songs as possible;
8) Take a bit more time writing the album, because there were too many average melodies on PFAYM, most of which were, or were due to be singles;
6b) Accept your position in the modern music scene. In the 90's you really only achieved mass communication because ever fucker loved guitar bands at the time;
9) Use someone else instead of Dave Eringa, because his production on PFAYM was one of the reasons it didn't sell. Try injecting some new blood - it worked with Albini.

A rebel album in the style of KYE is what is really needed. I know that album was unpopular but it was the most exciting time of the band so sod it!

In truth though, it is simply time for the band to accept they're not an arena selling group anymore and record another album that actually sounds like they're trying to please themselves.

Don't be silly. The wifi reception there is terrible.

But you imply by your previous post that working for minimum wage in B&Q is middle class? Hence, bollocks.

And you've contradicted yourself by acknowledging there is still a working class.
I'm not point-scoring but just because you couldn't find a job in however long you were looking and applying for does not mean the working class has ceased to exist.

Do I sense belated disappointment over Postcards after the initial euphoria? A bit like Tigers which was well received early on but which is now hated by many.

Lol, and middle class people don't work hard to pay the bills?

Nah, don't do bigger venues. Maybe do less gigs, but keep the smaller venues, and play rarer songs so individual dates are more specials. James gets flu on arena tours anyway - cut out the cigs and stop touring in winter!

I say to the band: "Don't listen to what the fans say, do what the fuck makes you happy!".

They'll probably do something that'll upset a large section of fans again though.
