Thought he did a good job - very complimentary about the lyrics too.

I think they were acquaintances back in the mid 90s. I'd say James was out a few times mixing in the same circles with Robbo. They both have the Spice Girls in common if nothing else, eh Jimbo?

I was ready to come in here to defend Robbie so I'm pleasantly surprised

I think the song suits his voice quite well, he has a similar range and style to James. And they've both duetted with Kylie! I have nothing but respect for Robbie, he's doing karaoke on Instagram live every night during lockdown, it's lots of fun and it's a great mood lifter after a day indoors.

Yes Mr. Williams, it seems you may entertain me.

That was lovely.

Agreed, it's right in his vocal range. There's definitely a lot of crossover between the two at certain points - It's Only Us definitely lifts the verse chords from No Surface All Feeling.

It's just a bit of fun, hopefully it will help the band pick up a few new fans or album sales Maybe they'll get him to appear on a track on the next album too haha!

Honestly you're missing a treat if you don't look in on Robbie's lockdown karaoke. Last night he recited the lyrics to Rudebox in the style of Tom Jones playing Marcus Aurelius I know Robbie's not everyone's cup of tea but he is honestly not the big egomaniac everyone thinks he is, he always comes across as very genuine and kind (with some very wacky humour stylings thrown in!)

I'm sorry but he should just shut the fuck up, the attention-seeking twat.

He's not attention-seeking in this case. It's just one song he chose to cover out of many he does every night. Last night there was Kings of Leon, INXS and Thin Lizzy, but no one's making a fuss about that. It's just because the NME etc decided to cover this that it's gotten any attention. Not Robbie's fault.

Man, his first two albums are britpop perfection, and i like the next two as well. Lost me a bit after that, but late 90's Robbie was great. Proper entertainer.

Uhhhh yeah, so... that's a thing.

Not sure which is more surreal, him singing that song or trying to decipher the lyrics.
A little from column a, a little from column b...
