I'd want to ask them their opinions on every song they've written or covered, but that'd probably be too long for a phone interview. Could pitch em the idea of doing a book like that, I'd fucking love it.

Some songs they'll probably sum up with a "shit" being the self-deprecating sods they are, that won't take long.

No plans to ask about Richey. Thanks for the feedback!

What did they think of "Lulu" by Lou Reed & Metallica.

When I saw this thread, I realised there was a question I'd always wanted to see answered by the band. When I read the thread title my mind went blank but a cup of tea later and I remember.
What did they think of "Lulu" by Lou Reed & Metallica.
I think it's one of the 21st Centuries finest Rock albums.

Hi, damianb; welcome to FD.

Anyroad, I would ask Sean Moore where he got his UN Peacekeeper's hat from.

Hi damianb

I was lucky enough to interview Nicky in 2009, alas the recording has been lost. I've mostly asked about the upcoming album (JFPL), gave him some presents from Polish fans and spent 7 minutes alone with him so yea, the greatest experience of my life I gave him some pics of me and him to sign and he started saying how much he liked his blonde hair

don't ask Nicky about the second book - band's biography, he'll get pissed. And don't say you support the French in rugby/football/anything.

good luck with the interview

ps. ASK THEM ABOUT THE EUROPEAN LEG OF THB TOUR FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, I DEMAND A QUESTION AND A PROPER ANSWER FOR THAT

ps2. I'd ask who wrote the German lines for 'Europa geht durch mich' and his opinion on the state of Eurozone, situation in Greece and the rise of the populist parties on the continent.

the recording device belonged to a colleague and he lost it before I managed to put it on my laptop or at least to transcribe it. real pity

but here's a pic of Nicky with the flag that was among the presents the fans gave him via me. it has a bunch of signatures which is really cool. there were also personalised stickers, some cards and other stuff

I'd ask, "Knowing now how your career has gone, has it been worth it all? Or would you have rather stopped and have Richey back?"

Take all the "track by track" videos they did, transcribe them down and you've got some of the material to go.

Now, what would I ask them?

I dunno, I loved them and followed them for so long and I believe if I ever happen to meet any of the members, I'd probably be mute shut and lost with nothing to say and then split up with great ideas to talk about on my way home regretting it will never happen.

But, here is one that comes to my mind right now. It's not a concrete question, but, you know, voices have been going around about that film soundtrack or something that James might be doing. You can ask something related on that topic. Like... when it is possibly due to, what's the film like, what's the soundtrack's sound and stuff like that.

And, since they are famous for sadness, anger, nostalgia, melancholy and all that serious stuff, I'd like to know who are some of their favourite comedians.

Really, any idea why? That's a shame as I'd love another book.

I heard a rumour once that Sean Moore likes to bite the inside of his mouth so that, when James and Nicky are discussing a certain subject in an interview, he can eat salt n vinegar crisps and inflict pain upon himself as a protest.

Someone should ask him what this subject is and why inflicting pain with salt n vinegar crisps equals a protest?
