I like the idea of playing EMG b-sides two years after the EMG tour.... I guess we'll get the last jet to moscow in 2025....

RIF review from Q uploaded onto Twitter and has been retweeted by FD.
Everything seems to get that rating these days. But I am more interested in hearing it than I was hearing the second single.
Probably be full of stuff that should have been a single as usual!

Seems that the album in full is at least listenable by some, then

The review has got me a bit more excited. Looks like “Hold Me Like A Heaven” is one to watch. “Song for the sadness” sounds interesting too.

Tut tut Mr Doherty. That review's a bit bland. It seems like he's maybe listened to it once half asleep 'n' hungover on the way to work on a Friday morning and banged it out in five minutes before catching the bus home via Greggs...

"They sound revitalised", "Up there with their best work", "Orchestral bombast", "glacial pop", "2018 reboot", "epic anthem", "rock chug". Chortle, guffaw.

Oh and JDB's gonna give you a wedgie deluxe for "Stocky Welsh bloke in his late 40s".

Don't knock it, anything that references Lifeblood in a positive light is A-okay with me.

The latter is a bit like Spectators Of Suicide towards the end.

Which inevitably leads to the question: Is Hold me like a Heaven the much-anticipated song from the RIF-album sample-video?

In fairness, the version of Spectators of Suicide that was performed at the Heavenly gig a few years ago sounded like it belonged on LB!

Has anyone kept a record of songs they've promised to play live/rehearsed and what actually makes it to the setlists?

From memory was the Past, Present, Future tour the first one where they announced beforehand what would be making the setlist?

I've seen James soundcheck Small Black Flowers and Yes acoustic but then to not go on to play them at the actual gig in the evening, so I guess it depends on their mood on any given day to a certain extent.

As others have said, best not to take everything Nicky says as gospel.

Sounds good. It's always a good sign if the "key tracks" are the ones you haven't heard.

I remember reviewers loving Tokyo Skyline, which in fairness is quite a cool song,

Tokyo Skyline is probably my favourite off RTF. Was shocked when I found it was, er, 'considerably beholden' to a Max Richter track.
