Beauty is back on the Street!
Hark! What was that sound?....
The tail-end of a hurricane or – or – something else.... Something’s rumbling under the paving stones, something’s stirring in the urban density. Yes, it’s true. We’re dusting off the type-writer keys....sharpening our scissors and our minds, unfurling the banner. Yeah, we’re rolling up our sleeves and striking some matches. Terrible Beauty Fanzine went on a long sabbatical of the soul that was necessary and cool but we’ve been watching from the sidelines and something’s calling, calling us back. We’re refuelling, we’re rewinding, we’re fastforwarding and we’re coming at you some time in 2015. The fanzine will return to mark the 20th anniversary of both the Holy Bible and itself, as well as celebrate the continuing, shimmering beauty of the band that are still telling it via rock and roll like nobody else is. Contributions are warmly welcomed and we’d love you all to be involved. Send your Manic inspired wordings/images to Mary & Viv at email: terrible_beauty@outlook.com For updates we can be found on facebook https://www.facebook.com/terriblebeautyfanzine and Twitter @tbfanzine If you need to send something by post please contact us for details through the email address. Over and onwards! |

This is cool. Nice to see a familiar name Fanzines are a sadly dying breed these days.

Thanks for the welcome back, people! We've got loads planned but to start the ball rolling we'd like to invite contributions. The fanzine was always a collobaration and we'd like that to be the case with the resurfacing!
Can you cast your mind back to the time you first “met” The Holy Bible album? What did it mean to you then? And what does it mean to you now? Terrible Beauty are collecting your memories and comments on arguably one of the most compelling and controversial albums of all time. Send us yours at: terrible_beauty@outlook.com for publication in Issue 17. Thanks! |

Well this is quite a surprise but a very pleasant one! I still have the last couple of issues of Terrible Beauty (somewhere), having got into the zine scene just as it crumbled. I miss the handwritten notes, the situationist postcards, the personality.... Welcome back indeed. La beaute est dans la rue.

Thanks Gutless Wonder and Bambi! And Nature's Discontent and Takk. The time just feels right to be back. Something in the air and it's great to know that there's still an appetite for fanzines. Rest assured a bumper issue will be manifesting as the autumn slides in. Just to say, a few people have been asking what sort of contributions we want. We appreciate if you're not familiar with Terrible Beauty you may have no idea what we're about which is why we've putting bits and pieces up on the facebook and twitter accounts to hopefully reveal the spirit of the fanzine. We'd be interested in anything and everything that speaks of why the Manics matter to you - this can take the form of gig reviews, articles, artwork, photos etc. So, please get in touch if you'd like to contribute and cheers to the people who've come forward so far.

Seasons greetings, MSP people!....For those of you who witnessed the chapter and verse of the entire "Holy Bible" hope you it rocked your soul as much as ours here at TBHQ. Quick update on the fanzine. The new issue will rear its head in the part of the new year where snow is likely still on the ground. We're excited to say it's gonna be full of all the stuff that demonstrates why MSP are such an important force in the world today and hopefully all the things you wanna read about/discuss and ponder....so if there's something you wanna shout from the rooftops there's still around three weeks before the final deadline. We are still hoping someone will feel inspired enough to send us a review of the Dublin gig and we're still after your "Real Cool Guy" pics (you + an MSP)...so do get in touch if you want to be involved. Email: terrible_beauty@outlook.com or contact us through facebook or twitter https://twitter.com/tbfanzine or https://www.facebook.com/terriblebeautyfanzine, Here it is! Merry Christmas! We'll be back soon. xx

By coincidence just a few hours ago I located my zine stash, including the last four issues of Terrible Beauty. I'm not sure I have anything to add to the new issue, but I'll certainly be getting one when it's out.

Gotta love those synchronicities, Bambi It's good to hear that people have kept copies of the fanzine - that they still mean something after all these years.
Lindz, thanks for your support and cheers to Forever Delayed Forum for still being here and for helping us spread the word via Twitter etc. |
