Another playlist thread warning - PFAYM B-Sides

I warned you, so do NOT moan. You shouldnt have opened the thread in the first place

Although i did NOT love the album at first, it has grown on me, I do like most of the tunes, and i think it stands better next to their other "commercial" record, despite SATT having their best song in the past few years (the title track).

But how abut those B Sides?
We got 15 again. FIFTEEN. When other bands give us one or two. We got FIFTEEN. It's amazing really, and not so much appreciated.

This bunch is interesting, as the Manics arent the band that record songs and the rest get thrown out as leftovers. While "writing" a bside, there is a different approach to it. You try something else (Nicky), you make a cool cover, you experiment a bit, but all in good time and fun. This is better, as opposed to just "leaving" something out the album and throwing it in the bsides, even if it's shit.

So here we go:

I'm Leaving You For Solitude
Distractions
Ostopolitik
Lost Voices
I Know The Numbers
Broken Up Again
Red Rubber
Evidence Against Myself
Slow Reflections / Strange Delays
Time Ain't Nothing
Midnight Sun
Inky Fingers
Engage With Your Shadow
Kiss My Eyes For Eternity
The Passing Show

I took these tracks (except the passing show, havent heard yet) and made a 14(+1) track playlist. It flows pretty well

Anyone wants to try? If not i'll post mine

This thread has made me realize I now have to compile Manics B-Sides Vol 7. Didn't realize they were up to 15 tracks for this release.

I have no ranking until my new Postcards B-sides arrive. And I'll be missing 'The Passing Show' since I don't have a way to listen to it.

I got an 11 track album that's so good, I'll burn a copy to my brother in America.

1. OSTPOLITIK
2. Red Rubber
3. Distractions
4. Inky Fingers
5. Evidence Against Myself
6. I'm Leaving You For Solitude
7. Broken Up Again
8. The Passing Show
9. Engage With Your Shadow
10. Kiss My Eyes For Eternity
11. Midnight Sun

Think I've misunderstood the game a bit, but I haven't got another four. But that's a pretty good CD. If all those songs had the production of PFYAM it'd be a better album than SATT and JFPL. But they haven't because these are just b-sides.

I really wish there was a separate forum for these threads.

Anyway, also the demo version of The Girl From Tiger Bay should be counted as a B-Side, as it's certainly from the PFAYM era (as discussed elsewhere).

Something like;

1. Red Rubber
2. Broken Up Again
3. Distractions
4. Inky Fingers
5. I Know The Numbers
6. Ostpolitik
7. Lost Voices
8. Kiss My Eyes For Eternity
9. Engage With Your Shadow
10. Evidence Against Myself

If this were a proper album, 'I'm Leaving You For Solitude', 'Slow Reflections/Strange Delays' and 'The Passing Show' would be b-sides for the lead single. I really like 'Midnight Sun' but it doesn't belong with the above as it was recorded 10 years before, but if I'd have been including it I would have put it where 'KMEFE' is, and move that between 'Ostpolitik' and 'Lost Voices' (yes, I am that sad).
