Anyone else hearing the breeders pod in the sounds?

I wish the guitars didn't make dull chugging links between sections quite as much as they do and that there were no strings or piano. That's about it on the complaints.
I wonder how the demos will sound!

well here is a spoiler, this album is probably their best one. oh im just gushing. but this is an exceptional album. it is at least as good (but in an obviously different manner) as the thb. my main criticism is that the music was not a little more experimental? even then it is an excellent fit for richeys last lyrics, which make mirror what bandmates say was his demeanor around the time he gave them. workmanlike and driven by richeys drive for truth. and work and truth are perfect together.

May 18-spoiling back cover shot.

Reminds me too much of SATT's for my liking.

i imagine this is because they're both albini recordings. although obviously they're not all the same, there is always going to be a vaguely similar sound quality to stuff he does.

personally, from what i've heard (peeled jackie hawking) it sounds more like mclusky do dallas, again, another albini recording.

regardless, all plusses for me!

I was hoping someone had brought these up somewhere, I've been wondering where they were from all this time and now know where they are sampled from! I just got Cabaret Voltaire's The Voice of America and the peew-peew is from "Messages Received". Nicky brought this up as a favorite album in this interview: http://replay.waybackmachine.org/200...mojooct04.html

That's an impressive find. How you managed to find Wim's suitable post hidden away in a two-year-old thread, I mean. What did you search for? 'William's Last Words' + 'peew-peew'?

I was not aware of this particular shameless act of plagiarism before. Just when I thought I'd heard it all, now I hear them completely stealing an intro from another act's song. Surely a man with Sean's hobbies could have come up with some peew-peew sounds of his own.

How do they continue to avoid getting sued?

People would be getting sued constantly if you sued about a sound!
