Jeez, they're being pretty negative about Faster these days.

Faster was the one song off THB that they would regularly play live. They even did an acoustic version everyone except me hated. Now it's too hard to play???????

And they opened with it in Leeds & Cardiff earlier this year, it's been a fairly regular constant for years and now it's "Too hard to play"…

…yet PCP and Revol are now seemingly a breeze to play live!

Faster is a really easy track, in terms of playing instruments? Bass part is really easy, guitar part's not hard, neither is the drum part... Naysmyth must be having trouble with the fairground organ.

Aside from some drum parts, Faster appears to be an easy song to play as far as I can tell. Maybe it's hard to perform it live as a group and keep it tight. There's an urgency to that song that probably requires it.

They say its hard to play as it encapsulates a very particular energy about a very particular time and playing it now just feels hollow. I agree with them.

^ They've played it a lot of times since 1994, that seems a bit unlikely.

To say they find Faster hard to play now after many years of playing it is a bit bollocks. When they play it full band and electric it amplifies the live sound massively but when they try to rework it it fails.

I'd say for the most part (apart from fairly recently) the song has stood up and sounded pretty decent. Before that usually it was nothing but rip roaring fire in the belly stuff.

Since I started going to see them in 2004 Faster was always one of the set pieces of the gigs. Always felt like a highlight to me and still feels like there's something missing since they dropped it.
