They name check the Daily Mail for hate and redicule in Royal Correspondent. And it looks like the decision to advertise in it was made by their booking agent - its quite common for larger ones to chase any means of revenue and promotion without consulting the act.
Similar things have happened in the past. Muse, for example, had their cover of Feeling Good used by Nestle despite the band boycotting them. It was because Nestle frequently work with an agency that use were signed to and never have any problems and so assumed it was okay. Muse subsequently won 500,000 euros in a law suit which they donated to Oxfam. It didn't seem like Sean was 'browbeaten' in any way and genuinely did want the ad pulled. Good luck to the campaign. Daily Mail is vile, nasty and downright ignorant. The sooner its income sources dry up and the paper withers away the better.

If their booking agents are Daily Mail readers, I'm not really surprised that non-UK fans are not their priority

I imagine it's for a video shoot. Must be cold on the sea front dressed like they are! Hope it's just not just a video of them standing around looking bored. Need a visually interesting video like Tolerate again, that got my attention along with the Everlasting thus making me a fan!

Looks like another one of their “standing around doing fuck all” videos

If it's going to be a stand around doing fuck all video then judging by these photos they're gonna look mighty smart doing so

Do they still make videos? Didn't think there was the budget for them any more, the single being dead and all that.

Quote:
They're called Stop Funding Hate and it's a positive campaign. Course they're not going to stop hate, and their campaign is going to make them subject of hate themselves. We're fucked up people with fucked up priorities. So what if they don't stop everyone funding hate, if they stop some that should be better than none.. But no that's just not good enough is it, if you're going to oppose anything you better make sure you're perfect. I think they're having quite a sensible approach really. Businesses love to put forward these wholesome family images. And papers don't always think about their layouts.. surely you understand why some businesses wouldn't want their message alligned with the kind of messages appearing in the Daily Mail... some of our best customers are Muslims! Can't remember if this was Daily Mail, could've been one of the red tops but come on... I'm only surprised that there isn't a bloody Childline advert on there or summat. On the other hand, this all or nothing bullshit seems to have flooded into our culture. People need to get the hang of facts like, if you don't like red it doesn't mean you like blue, if you agree with one person on one thing it doesn't mean you agree with them on everything. Even the companies advertising in the Daily Mail, it doesn't mean they endorse everything in there. Guilt by association is all the rage these days, if you're not with us you're against us, why not use that shit in a positive way. Quote:
Ah it could've been advertised on The Mirror's website for the same effect really, Daily Mail readers always end up in their comment sections anyway. Quote:
It's alright though, apparently the next Burger King advert is gonna have Suedehead on it.

Yeah, I heard that.. do we have a title yet? Wonder when the website's going to announce this single... or whether it's going to get a physical release.
