Bag Lady + The Holy Bible
Having just listened to THB and JFPL back to back it struck me that 'Bag Lady' is probably the closest song musically on JFPL to anything on the THB, it could have slotted in very easily onto it (also a great song, which has surprisingly received little comment here)...and i find it ironic that it was originally stashed away as a hidden track. Anyone feel the same way or find that the song is really growing on them as it is on me?

I think it's a great song, and yeah it is very Holy Bible-ish. I think the band have said that themselves actually.

The beginning always reminds me of Archives Of Pain.

Yes, both James and Nicky have said that Bag Lady is one track that could have been on The Holy Bible. It's in that NME track by track interview which you can find on youtube.

I can't comment, I only bought the Deluxe Edition. Is Bag Lady on Amazon or anything? (I avoid iTunes like the plague).

It's on the official website. I bought the Delux Edition and was a bit miffed by the whole thing.

I bought the Special Edition, and the LP, so I can't afford to buy the version with Bag lady on it.
It's just not the same listening to it on your computer. This is btw my first post, ever! |

Do you think that it should have just properly been included in the tracklist? I personally don't think it would have interrupted the feel of the album.

I think my first comment about the album in general was about the awesomeness of that track ond why it should have been on. On reflection, I can still see it fitting in there still, but I understand more why the band left it off. Personally I'd whip Pretension/Repulsion off in favour of Bag Lady.

can anyone give me the info if the lyrics of Bag Lady were also written by Richey? I think so but I can't think right now about any confirmation.
