Sean Read was meant to be at Portmeirion and Newport in 2013 but think he was ill so they only really got him in to do Jools.

There was very nearly a Kevin Rowlands duet on RTF but for one reason or another it didn't happen (and I've never been able to get to the bottom of why).
Nice one, thank you.

Listened to the album about five times in a row today (fence painting ffs), and The Left Behind has now grown on me. Used to constantly skip it but it’s really, really grown. Also gave the two bonus tracks a good go - enjoyed them.

Vivian is still a no.

Watching Jools it looks like the band have read this thread and brought the extra musicians even more to the forefront. Looks lame.

Watching it as well. And because of three guitars the mix is weird. All guitars are either too loud or too quiet at different times in the song. I do like James' shirt though.

Ah Jesus. 3 guitarists. All at front of stage. James not even playing guitar during verses in DFL. I'm at a loss what to say genuinely.

New album - with excellent reviews - to promote.

Play a 22-year old song.

Enjoyed the interview. Hopefully we’ll get Hold Me Like A Heaven on the extended show.

The lead bands each week look like they'll be doing a 'revisit' and I think this might have been the song they performed the very first time they were on Jools' show.....And never gets tired

I just find it unbelievable that Hold Me Like A Heaven wasn’t the first single from the album and worked as a main track from Sony etc. That could have made this album and tour huge.

Does it sound worse for having 3 guitarists? I certainly don't think so.

As much as I’d prefer James to play more guitar and would have preferred a new song to ADFl, I thought it was a pretty solid performance of both songs. James sounding in good voice

I'll watch the Jools show on Friday when it's the extended version just in case there's more Manics, but surprised to read they're using the extra guitar player again, I mean, why? It doesnt' add anything at all, except to apparently give James less to do?
