Faster Video Mark 2?
This has probably been mentioned in other threads, but why in the recent Track By Track video interviews (and on the NME website) have they use an alternative video for FASTER, using live footage?
What has happened to the military uniforms, white background and balaclaved James in the solo (possibly their best ever video)??

That is the US version, probably because it was thought the US at the time wouldn't have taken kindly to the military outfits.
The most interesting 'alternative' video of the Manics was the alternative 'A Design For Life' one, identical to the US Faster video but with the band seemingly performing 'A Design for Life' at the Astoria 1994. Of course, unless everybody who attended that gig had bad amnesia it was never performed. |

Although the UK Faster video is far superior (to the US version - and most other music videos, ever) I think they've probably used the US version because it shows the band more clearly.

Will it be the US version on the national Treasures DVD though?

Quote:
why? because it is an NTSC disc, as was the one with the best of Morrissey and, most annoyingly, that used USA versions for some videos. The DVD shall already be compressed to fuck with 38 music vids on, making it worse quality than the FD one as it is. extras will make it worse.

i am not aware of any, so take your word - if it's a track by track commentary that plays over the songs then that would not be so bad, but if it's the videos (like they did on NME or something?) that's more space taken up on the DVD and lesser quality.
not sure why i have hopes for the quality of the DVD - it is something that the band probably think of as a freebie that you happen to pay extra money for, i dare say a fuck? they give not one for the standard or quality of it.
