On Track - Channel 4, Tonight @ Midnight (27-10-11)

Tonight at midnight, the thing where they record 3 tracks to vinyl is being broadcast

Cheers lovely, already got it sky+ (just hope the bloody sky box works properly and doesnt cut out like it did with Jo Whiley and Noel; I was well pissed off)

It's repeated too over the weekend for anyone who can't catch it. I'll check times and get back...

I saw Foals on that show once and it was ace. Made me wonder though - is there a way to purchase copies of said vinyl?

I love Tsunami to bits, but that's a strange selection of tracks.

Quick impressions:

James should learn from Roy Keane that greying stubble vs still-dark hair is not a good look.

Nicky visits the Horse and Groom (presumably while James and Sean are doing the actual work like the old days)

Nicky looking 'hot' on the cover of Suicide Alley according to the presenter, Nicky sees the original singles as his pension.

I want one. How do I purchase? Vinyl turns me into the ultimate consumer unfortunately. Very cool concept for a show.

yeah I'd pay good money for a proper copy of that version of Tsunami especially, sounded great.

I thought TITD sounded rougher in a good way than the single version. At the end, the guy was saying the Manics' sleeve was better than all the other ones in the series, and Nicky said something like yeah but they all had better bassists.

Great show. Probably the best Manics programme since the JFPL doc.

Mainly for:

Playing as a three piece!
Nicky on great form and genuinely laughing with the presenter
Great choice of tracks.
Nice camera work on YLU on Jimbo showing his great guitar playing
Jimbo rocking out Tsunami on his John 5 (bought by Sean as I recall for bout £5000)
And they played as a three piece!

The only not-so-good points are Sean's moobs and looking like he was about to throw up after every drum roll part in This is the day.

On a side note I would pay so much to see them play stripped down versions of the songs as a 3 piece.
