Is faster studios easy to get to?
What is the name of the record shop they frequented
Where did the lads busk?

It does, but it's super boring; it's just a block of flats

I believe Faster studios is located somewhere close behind Cardiff Central, although I've never been there.
They used to busk in The Hayes, where St. Davids Hall is (if you watch the Carling Homecoming documentary, this is where Nicky says they did it) - it's in the centre of town.
Kellys Records in the market is also great for Manics stuff - they have signed stuff on the walls.
You could go and see the paving stones with their names on by the Millennium Stadium - you have to walk around quite far on the river side. Maybe go to one of the cafes recommended by JDB on the official site? My personal favourite is Truffles.

Don't forget that Spillers has actually relocated now (haven't found the new location, haven't had time).

Faster Studios is a good 15 minutes walk from the station and literally set back off the road behind gates last time I went looking. It's also down a side road off the main road on the side of Cardiff Bay.

Yeah, I was just being a dick. I was really creepy one day and went to where his flat was/is - but it's honestly not very exciting. But there is some nice water you a smoke by... You can't go into the building though, but you can see the window from outside obviously - it's still not that exciting though.

Definitely not 15 mins! I had 15 mins between a train change at Cardiff and I managed to walk to Faster Studios and back in that time!!

It's just on (or around) Trade Street - Williams Court.

Yes, and which the cash-strapped council are already hacking metaphorical lumps out of; cutting staff positions, closing entire floors of the building and renting them out to coffee shops... all plans currently pending and all deeply depressing.

One small note as well re posts above, Kelly's Records in the market no longer have quite the amount of signed MSP stuff they did a few years ago and James' fave caff Trade Street Cafe is now under new ownership and has poshed up.

Maybe also James in Cardiff in 2006, now lost in the fog of memory....

The Brewhouse and Live Lounge bars both have paintings of the Manics on their walls (or at least they used to).

Go to the new library next to John Lewis and see the plaque they've got there. Go to Spillers in the arcade, visit the music shop down from the castle and why not go up to Blackwood if you've got time. Have a great time, Cardiff's great and you always feel a little bit closer to the Manics when you are there
