Favourite line in a Manics song?
Hi all,
As a noob on here, I'm guessing this has all been done to death several times over, being that some of you have been on here since the internets were invented, but I was wondering what is your own personal favourite line (or couple of lines I suppose) from a Manics song.. My choice Jealousy soothes rejection with a kiss Just love the line, it's outstanding.

for reasons i've never been able to explain,
and on the streets tonight an old man plays with newspaper cuttings of his glory days actually, my favourite is probably "overweight and out of date". i found that was a nice, neat way to describe myself in a non-negative / downer way, but when i put that as a status thing on facebook fuck me did it cause trouble, people were worried that i was depressed and suicidal. well, everyone except my fellow manic Manics....

So many lines I love, but for now, from "Life Becoming a Landslide"
There is no true love Just a finely tuned jealousy and A mile empty inside I love the imagery of that one.

Such a difficult choice, but the line that always lingers in my mind:
"Silence is not sacrifice, crucifixion is the easy life." |

'Monuments put from pen to paper turns me into a gutless wonder'
'Nobody loved you like me' 'A tiny animal curled in to a quarter circle' 'For your love nature has hemorrhaged' Some of my faves.

all I want to do is live/no matter how miserable it is
it's not the most graceful or the cleverest of lines, but it rings so goddamn true. it would've been 'these sunless afternoons I can't find myself' but Richey cadged that off Philip Larkin, the cheeky git

I have crawled so far sideways
I recognise dim traces of creation I wanna die, die in the summertime, I wanna die I have no idea why I love this line so much, or why it makes me feel so happy. I interpret it as a moment of epiphany, which is probably not what it was meant to be.
