Quick thanks to all the American fans who made a lone British fan so welcome, at the Grassroots Tavern and then at the gig.

Funniest banter goes to James for suggesting a Wire / Morrissey slanging match with Mark E. Smith as ref would be a much bigger bout than Mayweather-Pacquiao. James' voice was so clear.

Interesting to see the difference between a US and a UK crowd. It was my first States-side gig and the barrier crowd was much more reserved than, say, the Roundhouse gigs. We jumped around a lot but not many people around us did (although we were slightly to stage left). Still a lot of fun and it was quite nice to not have anyone humping my back (I mean moshing). Enjoyed it a lot! Enjoy the rest of this tour to all those who are going.

Bring on Southampton and Cardiff Castle!
Hiya, how do you get a setlist at gigs.?

Make sure you're on the barrier for the gig, then stick around after the gig as the crew are clearing the stage - then reach out and hope that they will give you one of the setlists! Sometimes you get something else, like Sean's battered drumstick (as was the case at the roundhouse last year).

Finally catching up on this for real and noticed there's not much in the way of recaps... where'd everyone go?

The gig itself was excellent. They're really doing this album justice. The boys seemed to be in good spirits that night and did make some banter between songs, including funny recollections of their earliest and most disastrous NYC shows. Since I attended the THB gigs in Manchester it was cool to be able to compare. The crowd was definitely rowdier in the UK, but I think the US fans were just as passionate in their own way. And although the band played a shorter set here, it wasn't for lack of energy. I thought they sounded very tight especially for doing the whole show as a three-piece.

While in the queue, the band had to walk past after soundcheck to get to their car and shook hands with a few of us who were waiting — a nice surprise, and very kind of them.

Unfortunately I didn't make it to the pre- or post-show meetups, but I'm happy to have met so many nice fans throughout the day. Sorry I didn't ask around for FD usernames! Thanks especially to the three friendly guys from Pennsylvania who stood behind us (we were barrier in front of Nicky). If you're on here, you were great company!

Sadly cardiff will be tricky as the stage and crew will be so separated from the crowd at such a large event. Never know though.

He switches guitars depending on the song

I know that. I guess I thought the pics were from throughout the show, but I guess they all could've been shot during the same song.

I don't know about the US but in the UK photographers are only allowed to take photos through the first three songs... that could be why

Here's a recap of the NYC show with a pic of James's Les Paul, I remember some guy placing a big ass external lens over my shoulder and shooting mid-show so I'm assuming it's the same photographer HAHA

So friendly all the US Manics fans. I would like to thank the US fan who was giving out this cool badge in a New York Pub. Not sure if they are on FD?

Though the Manics play small halls in the United States to lucky American audiences, they are superstars in the United Kingdom, Europe, and elsewhere, playing to packed arenas
