17/12/11 - National Treasures Gig

Just heard on XFM news that the Manics will be playing National Treasures in full at the O2 arena on December 17th. Tickets go on sale on Friday, apparently.

Sorry if this has been posted already; I did do a search.

Yeah, and Nicky just said on Twitter... 38 songs. Ace.

Band have been mentioning an O2 gig when asked for ages. Surprised more didn't make the connection sooner. But then, I suppose, the Manics say a lot of things.

Indeed. I'm looking forward to the anti-London backlash.

I would't expect too many guests, especially if they are going to be playing nearly 40 songs. Could be wrong though.

To celebrate the release of 'National Treasures', the band will play a unique, once in a lifetime Christmas party at the O2 in London. The band promise “Glitter, glamour, special guests and a ticker-tape celebration. A never to be repeated one-off visual experience encompassing 21 years of MSP with 38 songs – from 1990’s ‘Motown Junk’ to (but not in order!) 2011’s ‘The Is The Day’. There will be an interval in order to top up on refreshments and like all the best parties, you’ll talk about it for years to come and your friends will wish they’d been there.”

Tickets go on sale Friday 2nd September at 9.30am priced £32.50 and £22.50

This is going to be epic!!!!

I really fucking hope I get a ticket for this.

And the guests are probably going to be mac, nina and hopefully tracy lords ;-) Can't see where they would squeeze any others guests in.

Info on Facebook with event attendance now too.

Gotta admit, I had an inkling they'd do a Christmas gig anyway but was skeptical about the rumours I'd heard. But whatever, sounds amazing. Can't wait. Money's gonna be a bitch!
