70 Songs Of Failure & Hatred

To quote Nicky in an interview with John Earls (Planet Sound/News Of The World)

"The new record is our last shot at mass communication, at reaching as many people as possible," he says.

"After this, the plan is to a make great, sprawling, insane triple album. There's an album we love called 69 Love Songs by The Magnetic Fields.

"We're settled on the idea to go one better and make an album with 70 songs on it. And call it 70 Songs Of Failure And Hatred."

PLEASE DO IT!!!

If they do a huge triple album, I have only 3 requirements:

1. Do NOT do another sprawling mess like KYE

2. Get back Albini

3. Make it 10 songs per disc, not a total of 70. That's just silly.

That is all.

It's too much. There's no way they could pull off a 70 track album without at least 30 tracks being filler. No way. I don't think anyone could do it.

That 70 track triple album will sit nicely next to everyone's copies of the album where all the songs were based on cities, and the commemorative programme from the Springsteenesque Sets Tour.

Interesting article, shame about the typing errors. In saying that, it's an article about the Manics... did someone at Sony type it?

I don't expect it. But I'd still enjoy it from any band I'm a fan of, if not just for how bombastic it is. I do have a few albums that are over 50 tracks in length.
