Nostalgic Pushead Appreciation Thread.
Been revisiting GATS lately; and this really might be one of their very best... Lyrical perfection; and why don't we hear this level of guitar playing from James any more?? I didn't actually realise the *extent* to which he's kinda resting on his laurels and cruising until I re-listened to this (and re-EQ'd it in my media player).

I'll always love Sleepflower and Roses In The Hospital, but I feel Nostalgic Pushead is the jewel in the crown of GATS. But I can see how it can divide some people.

I reckon if you start listening to GATS from Nostalgic Pushead, then back around to Roses In The Hospital, it's a better tracklist. To me, the last three songs are a bit bland melodically, and I'm a bit bored by track eight, but they're a great way to kick off the album and you get awesome tracks the whole way through.

It's kind of witty, but I wouldn't go as far as saying I'm a big fan...

I like it, I don't OMGLOVE it, but I like it. Nice gritty vibe, and James's voice sounds amazing soaring over on the verses like that.
(Still can't help hearing the last line of the chorus as "slap each other, God" though.) |

This was my favourite manics song back in the day. Although back then any new manics song I heard was my favourite song. I liked this just before I started to prefer Symphony of Tourette.

CHOOOOOOOOON!!!!!!!!!! I love NP and never understood the negativity towards it.
"I am a face of fashion in Soho square!" James' voice sounds amazing, really belting out the hooks.
