What do you think the new single will sound like competition?
Ok so there's no prize (apart from gutless wonder giving you a big slobbery one tongues and all) but I need something to keep me going over the weekend.
I'll start: It will start with a slow rising melody hook with powerchords and strings. The verse will be quite short and straightforward before setting up the chorus (which will prob be the title repeated a couple of times). More strings then a second verse which will be quieter after those strings before building up into the chorus again (repeated twice). I'm not so sure there will be a solo, more an instrumental break. Back into chorus. Fancy outro and third no.1 of their career due to Sony craftily releasing it on a slow week (like that hadn't helped before!!!) |

No lazy wire-esque comparisons. I want fully illustrated breakdowns!

Not to sure what it will sound like, I'm just expecting James voice to sound really good on it.

I dunno, I'm expecting something from the same path like SATT and JFPL. probably no 2liners from Wire like it was on YLAINE <3

Strings definitely - I expect them to mix the glorious feel of Design for Life with the addictive guitar riffs of Motorcycle and La Tristessa - or else do something stupid and try to sound like Take That.

Gospel Choir beginning the song with Nicky Wire as the head singer
Crescendo of strings into a 1 min thumping guitar solo JDB starts singing, the lyrics shouting out, "These are the postcards from a young man they may never be written or posted again" repeated 3 times. Strings screech, Ian McCulloch sings, "Whooooooah" Jumps into the catchy chorus of, "Poscards from a young man!" Repeated 6 times by JDB melodic voice. Break for more strings and another one of Ian McCulloch's "Whooooooah"'s Another 1 minute guitar solo The 2nd verse, "Bailed out my worst fears because man has to be his own saviour " repeated three times, McCulloch's "Whooooooah" Back into the catchy chorus. "POSTCARDS FROM A YOOOOUNG MAAAAN" Screaming out with rage. Sean trumpet solo, powerful notes blast through the speakers. Lasts about 2 minutes (I guess he really missed blowing that thing). Blistering 3 minute guitar solo that will literally tear your face off with the "POSTCARDS FROM A YOUNG MAN" repeated over and over by the gospel choir, an enthusiastic Nicky Wire and the quiet but just about hearable voice of McCulloch telling JDB to stop wanking the guitar. Fades out slowly leaving just the Wire rabidly sighing the title words over and over again until you can't make out the words any more and it becomes a mumbling mess.

I'll just go with a slightly slower-paced YLAINE

Like the orgasm of a thousand bees.
If not, very string laden, big chorus, and massive finish as previously described in someones blog
