V Festival 2011 details emerge

Edit: Sorry, I failed to find the other thread below, which is now staring me in the face, calling me a prick.

http://www.chelmsfordweeklynews.co.u...own_announced/

Looks like they'll be on the main stage below Eminem, Rihanna and - good grief - The Script.

That'd be a weird day. Still, I'd rather eat my own face than go to V again.

Ugh. The Script are awful, especially the creepy stalking song.

The V Festival is not a nice place and I'm not sure the Manics' presence can tempt me.

Also, that is a very dodgy ad for a golf course at the top of that page.

I ended up getting tickets to this because my friend wanted to see Arctic Monkeys and I wouldn't mind seeing them and there were a few other bands we were hoping to see, including the Manics.

But trust my luck that the Manics end up doing the day that I'm not going to...

A colleague only just said to me yesterday about wether the Manics were playing V or not!

Oh Lord, I knew this would happen if I bought for both days: the new Arctics' stuff turns out to be as tepid as the last and everyone else I like (a bit) is on the other day. Total bastards, not saying who's on which day upfront.

My god. That is one horrific line up. So glad I'm not going! Even if it means missing the Manics! Anything to escape the rest of those acts.

Can I raise a practical question at this moment?

Are they going to play "Umbrella"?

Another crap line-up. This is the worst year i can remember for bad line-ups in general for summer music festivals. It doesn't help when so many of them are headlined by the same bands nearly every year. How lovely it would be if Kings Of Leon and Foo Fighters fucked off for a while and The Script fucked off permanently. The Electric Picnic in Ireland is probably the best of a bad lot.

Aye, does get boring when it's the same acts headlining every year. Not that I've ever been to a festival, but trying to find the stuff that you like must be a nightmare!

They are playing inbetween The Script and Scouting For Girls! That'll be great, a load of disinterested chavs getting bored waiting for Eminem and Rihanna. Good luck with that crowd boys...

But yeah fair play, that line up is fucking shocking. I've never been tempted by V. But I went to Downlaod last year and am off to Reading for the 4th time this year having been to the northern leg at leeds three times as well. So perhaps its not aimed at me!

If you want to BUY some, I've got 2 weekend tickets (non-camping) that I bought on eBay for £395.

Otherwise, I'm going!
